Job summary

SEH is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead all accounting operations and partner with leadership on financial strategy. The role supports the annual audit, maintains strong controls, and drives process improvements across treasury, close, reporting, and cost management. Remote position, open to most US states.<\/p>

Ideal candidates have CPA credentials and extensive experience in end-to-end accounting within an employee-owned engineering firm setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with CPA preferred or active/inactive status.
• Experience in end-to-end accounting operations including audits and close processes.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Ability to manage and develop accounting teams and work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Proactively evaluate emerging accounting standards and regulatory changes.
• Build and maintain relationships with external auditors for audits and controls.
• Manage treasury activities including cash positioning, forecasting, and bank relations.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal controls and policies.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Partner with operations and leadership on budgeting and cost management.
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.
• Collaborate with Controller on financial strategy and process improvements.
• This is a remote opportunity open to candidates in the majority of US states; relocation noted if applicable.
