Job summary

Pearson Virtual Schools seeks qualified teachers to work from a home office anywhere in the United States. Our Teaching Services team manages online instructional programs for students nationwide and globally, delivering synchronous and asynchronous sessions and ensuring successful completion of coursework.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach.
• American Sign Language required.
• State teaching certificate in WA, TX, MI, IN.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Completion of traditional teacher preparation program.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested.
• Provide timely feedback and grade assessments within required timeframe.
• Attend check-in meetings with supervisor twice per month.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program with synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions.
• Grade assignments with prompt, high-quality feedback.
• Communicate with students and teachers to update pacing plans.
• Use data to monitor completion and interactions.
• Review curriculum to accommodate IEPs/504 plans.
• Develop enrichment activities and differentiated lessons.
• Develop knowledge of curriculum and courses.
• Communicate regularly via phone, Chat, and WebMail.
• Maintain FERPA and privacy compliance.
• Maintain student performance records and logs.
• Hold regular office hours (min 3 hours per week).
• Utilize various online tools to build relationships and promote success.
• Foster welcoming online environment for students and families.
• Other duties as assigned.
