Job summary

Pearson Virtual Schools is seeking a highly qualified Spanish teacher to deliver instruction remotely to students nationwide. The role involves synchronous and asynchronous sessions, grading, and ongoing communication with students, families, and colleagues.

The position requires a valid teaching certificate, traditional teacher preparation, and the ability to obtain certifications in other states. A flexible remote setup supports collaboration and adherence to FERPA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach Spanish with a valid teaching certificate in any state.
• Must have completed traditional teacher preparation program (not alternative certification) at an accredited college or university.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested

Responsibilities

• Support the instructional program with synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions using ClassZoom.
• Complete all grading with prompt, high-quality feedback on assignments.
• Communicate with students and other teachers regularly to update pacing plans and schedules.
• Use data to monitor student progress and encourage course engagement.
• Review curriculum and modify lessons to accommodate IEPs or 504 plans.
• Collaborate with team members to develop enrichment activities and differentiation.
• Develop knowledge of curriculum and course specifics you teach.
• Communicate with students via phone, chat, and web mail.
• Adhere to FERPA and data privacy policies.
• Maintain regular office hours (minimum 3 hours per week).
• Use multiple tools to build relationships and promote student success.
• Foster a welcoming online environment for students and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned
