Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach American Sign Language with a valid state teaching certificate in WA, TX, MI, IN.
• Must have completed traditional teacher preparation program at an accredited college or university.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested.
• Provide feedback to students in a timely manner and grade assessments within the required timeframe.
• Attend check-in meetings with your supervisor twice per month (or as scheduled).

Responsibilities

• Support the instructional program with synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions using ClassZoom.
• Complete all grading by providing prompt, high-quality, personalized feedback on assignments.
• Communicate with students and teachers on a regular basis to update pacing plans and schedules.
• Use data to monitor student progress and tailor interactions to encourage engagement.
• Review curriculum and modify lessons to accommodate IEP/504 plans.
• Develop enrichment activities and differentiated lessons for at-risk students.
• Communicate regularly with students using phone, chat and webmail.
• Adhere to FERPA and privacy laws to protect student information.
• Holds regular office hours (minimum 3 hours per week).
