Job summary

LanguageBird is seeking qualified American Sign Language instructors for remote, online teaching for middle and high school students. Instructors will lead one-on-one lessons, provide timely feedback, and monitor progress within a flexible, online environment.

Requirements include 1–2+ years of ASL teaching experience, native-like proficiency, and a Bachelor's degree. Evening availability in U.S. time zones is preferred; we value creativity and student-centered approaches.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience teaching American Sign Language (online and/or in a school setting).
• Native-like proficiency in American Sign Language.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging one-on-one online lessons using Microsoft Teams.
• Create a supportive and personalized learning environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and success.
• Assign and provide timely feedback on class performance, homework assignments, and projects.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate grades and academic records.
• Communicate professionally and proactively with students, families, and LanguageBird staff as needed.
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.
• Participate in required training.
