LanguageBird is seeking a remote American Sign Language instructor for the 2026-27 school year. Instructors teach one-on-one online lessons via Microsoft Teams and create engaging learning experiences for middle and high school students.

Applicants should have 1–2+ years of ASL teaching experience, native-like proficiency, a bachelor’s degree, and strong communication skills, with comfort using educational technology and MS Office. Evening availability in US time zones is preferred.

Online American Sign Language Instructor (Remote) Full Description

This is a remote online position. American Sign Language Instructors residing in any country are invited to apply.

Who We Are

We are a premier, accredited online language school seeking passionate American Sign Language instructors to join our team for the 2026-27 school year.

At LanguageBird, we believe meaningful learning happens through strong relationships, engaging instruction, and a commitment to continuous growth. We offer Middle School and High School American Sign Language Levels 1-6+, as well as tutoring, conversational, and test-preparation courses. Our curriculum is ACTFL-aligned, and we are textbook-free.

Rather than relying on traditional textbooks, we use ACTFL Can-Do Statements and real-world communication contexts to guide instruction. Our courses emphasize Project-Based Learning, meaningful communication, and authentic language use. We do not assess students through traditional assessments. Instead, instructors facilitate engaging learning experiences using a variety of digital tools and authentic resources and evaluate student growth through projects, participation, and performance-based assessments.

While we provide syllabi and some instructional guidance and resources, instructors are encouraged to bring creativity, professional expertise, and instructional flexibility to their lessons to meet the unique needs of each learner.
