Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking a Virtual ASL Educational Interpreter to provide sign language interpreting and access services for deaf and hard of hearing students in K-12 settings in Springfield, IL. You will interpret in classrooms and small groups, supporting tutoring and daily instruction while collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires ISBE approval or eligibility, ASL fluency, and adherence to RID codes, with potential EIPA score 3.5+, NIC/RID, or

Qualifications

• ISBE Educational Interpreter Approval or eligibility to obtain.
• EIPA score 3.5 or higher, or NIC/RID or Illinois BEI certification.
• Background check and TB clearance.
• Fluency in ASL and adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Interpret manually and orally for deaf and hard of hearing students in classroom and small-group settings.
• Work with teachers and staff to review upcoming subject matter for full access to instruction.
• Participate as a member of the IEP team and share observations on communication strategies and progress.
• Support individual and small-group instructional activities and assist with daily assignments.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality and school expectations.
