Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Area Accountant for a remote USA role. You will compile and analyze financial information, prepare journal entries, and help produce monthly and quarterly performance reports.

The role supports internal controls, SOX compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and audits within a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have GAAP knowledge, solid Excel skills, and experience with GL and Oracle accounting software.

Qualifications

• Accounting experience with GAAP knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Excel (intermediate).
• Experience with general ledger and Oracle accounting software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.
• Support Area Controller with internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze GAAP statements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditures.
• Support audits and respond to information requests.
