Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Billing Specialist to coordinate patient, client and insurance billings for the medical facility. This remote role supports the Lehigh Valley region from remote locations within Pennsylvania and beyond.

You will maintain knowledge of third-party payor billing rules, ensure accurate demographic data, process payments, obtain prior authorizations, and handle inquiries. SOP compliance and timely communications are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of billing requirements and rules for third party payors.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient, client and insurance billings for the medical facility.
• Process insurance payments to patient accounts in a computerized system.
• Obtain prior authorization and perform patient benefit investigations.
• Re-bill insurance companies to secure payment for patients.
• Respond to patient billing inquiries by phone or mail.
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to SOPs.
