Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking a Billing Specialist to review and submit medical claims for a diverse set of providers and clinics. This fully remote regional role emphasizes timely submission, problem solving, and adherence to insurance rules and billing guidelines.

You will liaise with clinics and insurers to gather missing documentation, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliant records. A high school education and EMR familiarity are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Talent Bullseye assessment is part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

• Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness.
• Obtain missing information to ensure timely claim submissions.
• Know Medicare/Medicaid rules and guidelines.
• Adhere to billing guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Identify the correct party to bill (insurance or patient).
• Complete required billing checklists prior to submission.
• Perform follow-up to gather documentation in a timely manner.
• Communicate with clinic personnel and insurance companies.
• Coordinate documentation updates with clinics when needed.
