Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Billing Specialist to process UB04 and HCFA-1500 claims and manage the accounts receivable.

This role requires attention to data accuracy, timely submissions, and follow-up on denials to maximize reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma (Billing/Coding certificate preferred), strong English communication, and experience with Microsoft Office and payer systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Billing/Coding Program certificate preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process UB04 and HCFA-1500 claims through billing system to maximize reimbursement.
• Submit claims timely and manage accounts receivable.
• Verify billing data accuracy and revise as needed.
• Identify trends in submission issues and report to management.
• Understand third-party payer requirements (federal, state, commercial).
• Analyze aging of insurance accounts and follow up on non-payments.
• Investigate denied claims and resolve issues to maximize payments.
• Resolve payment discrepancies and ensure accurate payments.
