Job summary

micro1 is seeking an Application Security Engineer (AppSec) for a contractor engagement. You will work remotely ~15 hours per week, applying your backend and security expertise to design coding tasks for AI training, focusing on secure implementation and bug fixes.

Weekend work optional and flexible hours available. You’ll develop realistic tasks in languages like Java, Python, Rust, and C++, build deterministic verifiers, and help shape how models learn to reason and perform while maintaining

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience in one or more listed languages (Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++).
• Track record building scalable services and APIs.
• Comfort with debugging, performance work and automated testing.
• Solid code review instincts.
• Cybersecurity or SecOps background is a plus — secure coding, appsec, pentesting, CWE/OWASP.

Responsibilities

• Create realistic, interesting coding tasks for AI to solve.
• Implement deterministic verifiers that accept valid solutions and reject the rest.
• Collaborate with micro1’s AI data team to train models.
