Job summary

Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to own the vulnerability management lifecycle and secure our JVM-based stack. You will partner with development teams to triage and remediate issues, balancing security with rapid delivery.

You’ll monitor cloud security, perform risk reviews, and support audits while mentoring engineers on secure coding practices in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software security or cybersecurity.
• Hands-on in the JVM environment, reading functional code and fixes.
• Experience in cloud security operations and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Secure the code by leading application security vulnerability management within a high-scale Clojure/JVM environment.
• Handle Security Ops: monitor cloud security posture with SIEM/SOAR/CSP tools to detect threats.
• Champion governance & risk through security reviews and third-party assessment.
• Protect workspace: IAM, device compliance, and secure productivity tooling.
• Drive technical excellence by mentoring engineers on secure coding and scalable security defaults.
