Job summary

Zillow Group is seeking quantitative interns for a 9-week summer program. Based in Seattle with a hybrid schedule, interns work alongside Zillow teams, contributing to forecasting and business economics projects from day one.

The role emphasizes building models, data work, and communicating insights to stakeholders. Eligible students are pursuing Masters or PhDs in quantitative fields and should be ready to translate business questions into analytical deliverables, using Python or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD with expected graduation 2027–2028.
• Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and regression analysis with econometrics exposure.
• Experience with time-series and causal analysis.
• Ability to use AI tools without outsourcing thinking.
• Ability to clearly explain statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in applying quantitative methods to housing markets, forecasting and finance.

Responsibilities

• Translate business questions into analytical projects with clear deliverables.
• Clean and validate housing, economic, business, or financial data.
• Build and compare models for prediction and forecasting.
• Develop causal models using identification strategies.
• Design experiments to improve pricing and operations across businesses.
• Evaluate models with baselines and time-based validation.
• Analyze trends, forecast errors and drivers of performance.
• Create reproducible analyses, visualizations and reporting workflows.
• Share approach and results with technical and nontechnical audiences; document work for handoff.
