Job summary

Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to drive the vulnerability management lifecycle across our rapidly scaling engineering teams. This role blends application security engineering with risk management in a JVM-based environment.

You'll partner with developers to triage vulnerabilities, strengthen secure coding practices, monitor cloud security posture, and support audits while working remotely from one of our eligible states.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software security or cybersecurity.
• Experience in JVM-based environments and reading functional code.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead app security vulnerability management with engineering teams.
• Monitor cloud security posture using SIEM/SOAR tools.
• Conduct security reviews and risk assessments of architecture and APIs.
• Ensure identity/access and device compliance for a secure workspace.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and secure defaults.
