Job summary

Grundfos in the United States is seeking an Applications Engineer to provide expert technical guidance on product selection, system design, and optimization for high-purity water solutions.

You will collaborate with Sales to prepare cost estimates, evaluate equipment options, and support customers through pre-bid discussions and technical reviews. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, or system design.
• Strong understanding of high-purity water treatment processes and sanitary design principles.
• Proficiency with engineering selection and sizing tools; ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Define technical and commercial scope for high-purity water solutions.
• Develop conceptual system designs and perform preliminary calculations.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and identify value-engineered options.
• Evaluate equipment options based on technical feasibility, lead time, and pricing.
• Explore innovative approaches to customer challenges and provide practical solutions.
• Partner with Sales to align technical and commercial strategy for Grundfos proposals.
• Participate in customer meetings to provide technical support alongside Sales.
• Gather costing data to support standardized estimating libraries.
• Obtain supplier quotations and coordinate with Purchasing for costs and lead times.
• Review purchase orders for scope and budget alignment.
• Prepare and deliver technical and commercial turnover packages.
• Lead technical review and turnover meetings with downstream teams.
