Job summary

e-STORAGE, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, is seeking an Applications Engineer (USA) to support pre-sales for utility-scale BESS projects. You will size systems, perform preliminary design, and deliver value engineering, working with sales and engineering teams across a multinational environment.

The role emphasizes technical presentations, RFP analysis, and documentation for proposals, with potential senior level consideration for experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of direct Applications/Systems Engineering experience in the BESS industry.
• Ability to read and understand engineering schematics, advisory reports, and reviews.
• Understanding UL standards for BESS and grid inverters.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical champion in customer discussions and provide product specs.
• Conduct technical presentations and clarifications to customers and other teams.
• Analyze RFPs to determine project scope against schedule, specs, risk, and technical requirements.
• Lead the technical sizing of BESS projects using internal models and tools.
• Prepare technical documentation for proposals and coordinate bid packages.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate technical contract exhibits for the Applications team.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and procurement to align priorities.
• Contribute to product development with market sensing summaries.
• Travel to meet customers, up to 20%.
