Job summary

Base One Technologies in Arlington, VA is seeking a software engineer with an active Secret clearance to design, troubleshoot, and implement software for end-to-end development and service integrations, with experience in on-prem and cloud deployments.

The role emphasizes secure SDLC, CI/CD, IaC (Ansible, Terraform), container tech (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), and collaboration across remote and on-site teams; travel to DC area may be required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required; TS/SCI preferred.
• Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
• 2+ years of directly relevant applications development experience.
• Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and code versioning/maintenance.
• Experience assessing/integrating COTS products.
• Familiarity with installation, testing, validation of new/existing software/tools.
• Operational experience with Python and Linux terminals.
• Knowledge of software automation, RESTful architecture, and data ETL workflows.
• Experience with containerization tech: Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift.
• IaC experience: Ansible, Git-CI, CloudFormation, Terraform.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with customers in project environments.
• Ability to collaborate across remote and physical locations.

Responsibilities

• Designing, troubleshooting, and implementing software code for end-to-end development and service integrations.
• Develops and integrates software stacks for on-prem and cloud tools and services.
• Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications and pipelines.
• Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates integration of new products.
• Leads evaluation and recommendation of software packages and testing tools.
• Automates deployments, testing, and builds with IaC tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Git-CI).
• Implements documentation and development process standards.
• Ensures quality control through staged testing and pipelines.
• Configures and tunes COTS, GOTS, and open-source technologies for mission needs.
• Navigates Linux/container-heavy environments (OpenShift, RHEL, Alma, Docker).
