Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Capabilities team in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on building out, integrating, and securing IT systems while maintaining compliance at customer sites.

A Secret clearance is required and the position is on-site with in-office expectations. You will work with VMware, Red Hat, and Windows environments, perform patching, install hardware, and develop automated processes to streamline operations.

Qualifications

• Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• On-site position based in Arlington, VA with 5+ days in office.
• 5+ years of full-time experience in systems administration or engineering.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware) and Red Hat/Windows environments.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Experience with Bash, C, and/or Python scripting.
• Understanding of TCP/IP concepts (TCP/UDP/VLANs/DHCP/routing).
• Experience with patching and remediating vulnerabilities in a closed network.

Responsibilities

• Rack and install server/networking devices in standard racks.
• Perform server updates, patch management, and software installations.
• Operate and maintain servers (Red Hat, Windows, VMware) in virtual and physical form.
• Install and provision newly purchased hardware.
• Implement and review security processes to maintain compliance and proper user permissions.
• Develop and maintain golden images for OS and VMs.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems and networks for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
