Job summary

Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation is seeking an Application Engineer to design and select combustion equipment solutions for customer inquiries, working with outside sales and distributors. This role offers remote or in-office work with regular travel to HQ in Danbury, CT.

The candidate will manage the full proposal process, develop cost estimates and quotations, and collaborate with teams to deliver effective technical solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering required.
• 2–5+ years in sales, applications engineering, or related technical role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Design and select optimal combustion equipment solutions from customer specs.
• Own the entire proposal process: cost estimates, pricing, documentation, and quotations.
• Travel to customer facilities for on-site reviews and proposal generation.
• Collaborate with management to assess risks and adopt new tools and technologies.
• Provide regular status updates and create professional sales presentations.
