Job summary

FirstEnergy Service Co. is seeking a technically skilled software administrator and developer to configure, integrate, and support critical asset-management applications (e.g., DNV Cascade, Hitachi Energy APM, SEL Compass) across Transmission and Substation assets.

You will liaise between business stakeholders, IT, and vendors to ensure reliable, compliant systems. The role may start as work-from-home with potential on-site visits and requires strong SQL, C#/C++/.NET, Python, REST API experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong SQL skills, including writing procedures, packages, views, triggers, and jobs.
• Software development experience with C#, C++, .NET, Python, or REST APIs.
• Experience with Microsoft Server configuration/administration (IIS, Services, Tasks, etc.).
• Analytical skills to resolve problems and improve processes.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and adapt to technology changes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work remotely/virtually.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain application interfaces and vendor packages.
• Design, configure, test, and implement changes to installed applications.
• Learn business processes related to supported tools and assets.
• Develop technical designs and select appropriate technologies.
• Create and execute unit and system test plans; assist with integration.
• Document completed work clearly for future maintenance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate software packaging needs.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions within IT governance.
