Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a skilled software administrator/developer for asset management applications within the FirstEnergy Service Company. The role focuses on configuring, integrating, and supporting critical vendor applications used in Transmission asset management and operations.

You will liaise between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure reliable systems, proper configuration, and alignment with security and compliance. Hybrid work with potential on-site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong SQL skills including procedures, packages, views, triggers, and jobs; familiarity with TOAD/SSMS.
• Experience with software development and integration using C#, C++, .NET, Python or REST APIs.
• Experience with Microsoft Server configuration/administration (IIS, Services, Tasks, etc.).
• Analytical skills to resolve problems, improve processes, and adapt to new tech.
• Ability to work independently and in a team within a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure application interfaces and maintain reports and vendor packages.
• Analyze, design, configure, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and implement changes to applications.
• Learn business processes related to supported apps and develop technical designs.
• Develop clear documentation for completed products and test plans.
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate software packaging for Asset Management.
• Support 24x7 operations with flexible hours and on-call readiness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure reliable, integrated systems.
