Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Governance Engineer II to implement governance for APIs, data, security, and responsible AI. The role focuses on turning enterprise policies into automated solutions, with guardrails for AI agents and secure access to enterprise resources.

Collaborate with architecture, security, risk, data, and engineering teams to strengthen API and AI security, automate compliance, and enable self-service governance across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software engineering, API development, systems integration, or related field.
• Experience designing and supporting REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and governance-as-code practices.
• Knowledge of OAuth, authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Experience with API lifecycle tools like Postman, SwaggerHub, developer portals.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering and agentic AI concepts.
• Strong scripting or programming skills and ability to translate governance requirements into automation.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review API specs and data contracts for alignment with REST, security, and data standards.
• Translate policies into implementable standards, controls, templates, and reusable patterns.
• Maintain governance artifacts including standards and reference implementations.
• Track compliance, exceptions, adoption, and remediation across teams.
• Establish guardrails for AI agents to discover, access, and invoke APIs and tools.
• Develop governance-as-code solutions and self-service templates.
• Support API lifecycle activities including design, publishing, versioning, deployment, and retirement.
• Integrate governance controls into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
• Create self-service templates, documentation, and onboarding guidance.
• Collaborate with security, architecture, data, and responsible AI teams to operationalize policy.
