Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer for a 100% U.S.-based remote role. The position focuses on building a cloud-based dashboard for healthcare EDI data, with back-end services in Java and NodeJS and a front-end in Angular.

Requires 8+ years in software development, RESTful API design, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. U.S. Citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required; remote work is allowed from most states with some exclusions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development with strong back-end focus (Java and/or NodeJS)
• 8+ years designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
• Experience building back-end services that serve structured EDI/healthcare data
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and front-end components
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and NodeJS for API design and data transformation
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (Angular) and RESTful data formats (XML/JSON)
• Cloud (AWS/Azure) experience including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch
• Strong testing experience (JUnit/Jest) and CI/CD familiarity
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• U.S. Citizenship required for this position
• HIPAA and healthcare data awareness a plus
• Experience working with distributed U.S. teams and DevOps environment

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard processing healthcare EDI transactions
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for EDI data retrieval and transformation
• Integrate with internal APIs, EDI pipelines, and data services for live and historical data
• Support Angular-based dashboard front-end and API integration
• Collaborate with C#/.NET and AWS data engineers to define API contracts
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews
• Perform unit and integration testing of back-end services and API layers
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance of back-end services on AWS
• Promote best software engineering practices within Agile (Scrum/Kanban)
• Utilize Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration
• Follow security and compliance standards for healthcare data
