Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an Angular/NodeJS Developer to build and maintain a cloud-based dashboard and RESTful APIs for healthcare data flows. This is a fully remote, US-based role supporting Veterans Affairs initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of software development experience with strong Angular and NodeJS skills, API design, and data transformation. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with backend focus (Java and/or NodeJS).
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs that serve healthcare data.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and UI components.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of data transformation and error handling.
• Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant API development and testing.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard that processes healthcare EDI.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for healthcare records.
• Integrate with internal APIs and data services to deliver live historical data.
• Support Angular-based dashboard front-end and ensure accurate data surface.
• Collaborate with .NET/C# and AWS data engineers to define API contracts.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing across backend services.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance on AWS.
• Apply best software engineering practices in an Agile framework.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
