Job summary

UC San Diego Health's Revenue Cycle department seeks a certified coder to perform in-depth CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding for Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Critical Care across inpatient, outpatient, and clinical documents. This role may offer remote work options.

The ideal candidate holds a CPC or CCS with 3+ years of anesthesia coding experience and strong CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS skills to ensure accurate capture of all billable services. Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
• Must have three (3) years of coding experience (Anesthesia coding).
• Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10-CM, & HCPCS professional coding applications.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the coder performs in-depth complex daily CPT, HCPC and ICD10 coding of inpatient, outpatient and clinical charge documents received from physicians for Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Critical Care procedures.
• The coder is responsible to accurately interpret notes/diagnoses and to convert them into CPT/HCPC/ICD10 codes as appropriate in order to fully capture all billable services.
