Job summary

UC San Diego Health's Revenue Cycle department supports the organization's mission to deliver outstanding patient care and to create a healthier world. The coder will perform complex daily CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding for anesthesia-related procedures in inpatient, outpatient, and clinical settings.

Under general supervision, responsibilities include interpreting notes and diagnoses and converting them into accurate codes to capture all billable services.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
• Three (3) years of anesthesia coding experience required.
• Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10-CM, & HCPCS professional coding applications.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, perform in-depth CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding of inpatient, outpatient and clinical charge documents for Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Critical Care procedures.
• Interpret notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes to fully capture billable services.
