Job summary

In Tandem is seeking an Analytics Engineer (Finance & Modeling) to own metrics, reporting, and reconciliation across our family-tech brands. You will translate subscription and transaction data into defensible numbers and build forecasting models that inform CFO and board narratives.

You will work with a live dbt project on Databricks with a star-schema finance mart and an AI agent that answers business questions from the semantic layer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering, data science, BI engineering or advanced analytics.
• Statistical modeling shipped into a business process: forecasting, survival or cohort analysis, or propensity.
• Measuring the lift from a price change or a growth experiment.
• Subscription metrics you've built and defended to a finance stakeholder: ARR/MRR, renewal, churn, LTV/CAC, or cohort revenue.
• Strong SQL and real dimensional modeling. You've designed marts, not just queried them.
• Python and Git as daily habits.
• dbt, Databricks and Unity Catalog, or a comparable lakehouse.
• Reconciling transactional data to a financial system of record.
• Code-first notebook reporting (marimo, Hex, Streamlit, Quarto).

Responsibilities

• Governed metrics: define and version finance metrics in dbt and Unity Catalog with tests.
• Move recurring finance pack into marimo and automate monthly reports.
• Reconcile transactions across stores, processors, subscriptions, and ledger; automate checks.
• Forecasting for finance: cohort projections, renewal/retention forecasting, LTV by source, pricing impact modeling.
• Ship models as scored tables in dbt/Unity Catalog with tests and lineage.
