Job summary

Purple Wave Auction is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our data organization. This role blends data engineering and analytics to transform raw data into clean, well-documented datasets powering reporting and self-service analytics across the business.

You will design dimensional models using dbt, implement data quality tests, and collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to create a single source of truth for metrics and dimensions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering.
• Proficiency with dbt and strong SQL.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ELT patterns.
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Strong communication skills to translate business requirements into data models.
• Spanish speaking candidates encouraged; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dimensional models using dbt.
• Transform raw data into clean, structured datasets for analysis.
• Define core metrics and business logic in a centralized modeling layer.
• Enforce modeling conventions for consistency across the project.
• Write data tests, monitor pipeline health, and triage issues.
• Collaborate with data engineers to improve data reliability and contracts.
• Maintain documentation and governance for models, sources, and metrics.
• Support BI dashboards in Tableau/Power BI and analytics workflows.
• Version control the dbt project with Git and manage CI/CD pipelines.
