Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a remote role (US East Coast preferred). You will own ingestion, modeling, and the semantic layer to enable trusted data for venue leaders, finance, and AI agents.

You’ll work with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and ThoughtSpot to build models, tests, and governance, delivering self‑service analytics and reliable data products across the company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI development.
• Strong SQL and production dbt models.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
• ELT ingestion with Fivetran and troubleshooting schema changes.
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling and grain.
• Built dashboards or self-service data products.
• Test and document your work as a habit.
• Curious about the business and able to explain decisions clearly.
• Able to work with AI agents and ensure outputs are correct.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, and venue teams to define models and metrics.
• Own ingestion for your domains using Fivetran; manage schema drift.
• Model data through bronze, silver, and gold layers with dbt.
• Own the semantic layer: metrics, dimensions, and relationships with clear definitions.
• Build ThoughtSpot models and Liveboards for self-service analytics.
• Maintain a regression suite with tests and documentation; ensure quality.
• Apply governance day-to-day with access controls and masking.
• Monitor freshness and pipeline health; optimize performance and cost.
• Work with AI agents end-to-end, writing SQL/dbt and drafting tests/docs.
