Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group seeks an Analytics Engineer to own data from ingestion to visualization. You will model data through bronze, silver, and gold, define a semantic layer, and power dashboards, conversations, and business agents that drive decisions.

You will work with the Data Platform team, report to the Engineering Manager, and collaborate with analytics engineers and business partners across the company. Expect modern tools and a data-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI development.
• Strong SQL and production dbt models experience.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
• Experience with ELT ingestion tools like Fivetran.
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling and medallion layering.
• Built dashboards or self-service data products used for decision making.
• Test and document work as a habit.
• Curious about business decisions behind data requests.
• Able to collaborate with AI agents for data tasks.
• Explain work clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
• Ownership mindset and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, and venue teams to translate needs into models and metrics.
• Ingest data via Fivetran and land in bronze; manage schema drift and load issues.
• Build dbt models through bronze, silver, and gold layers.
• Develop the semantic layer with consistent metrics and relationships.
• Create ThoughtSpot models and Liveboards for self-service analysis.
• Maintain QA with dbt tests and documentation; ensure governance.
• Apply tagging masking and row-level access controls for governance.
• Monitor data freshness and pipeline health to spot issues early.
• Collaborate with AI agents for end-to-end data tasks; provide clear guidance.
