Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Systems Software Developer to join a remote-first engineering team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and testing software for critical aircraft systems, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and performance.

You will collaborate with systems engineers and hardware specialists, apply C/C++ and RTOS in embedded contexts, ensure compliance with DO-178C, and contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, and process improvements from

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote team environments.

Responsibilities

Design, code, test, and maintain software modules for aircraft control, navigation, and monitoring systems.
Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware specialists to define software requirements and architecture.
Develop and implement software testing strategies, including unit, integration, and system testing.
Ensure software compliance with rigorous aviation standards and safety certifications (e.g., DO-178C).
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues identified during development or in fielded systems.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
