Job summary

BETA Technologies is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for Airborne Software to develop and integrate safety-critical embedded software for airborne systems. You will work with RTCA DO-178C standards, embedded C, and ARM microcontrollers to ensure robust performance in flight-critical environments.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, understanding of hardware constraints, and engagement in the full software lifecycle from design to verification.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in real-time embedded software development.
• Proficiency with the C programming language and embedded software practices.
• Knowledge of RTOS concepts and safety-critical software development.
• Experience reading schematics, datasheets, and reference manuals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze system software requirements for correctness and feasibility.
• Develop high-level software requirements for airborne systems.
• Architect and design embedded software to satisfy high-level requirements.
• Develop embedded software in C and assembly for ARM MCU targets.
• Integrate software with target hardware and other software components.
• Troubleshoot timing and performance issues in software execution.
• Perform peer reviews of teammates' code contributions.
• Coordinate with software verification for testing and analysis.
