DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to help train AI models. You’ll write hard, verifiable engineering problems drawn from your own specialty, work out the answers yourself, and show us exactly where today’s AI systems still fall short of a practicing engineer.

This remote, independent-contractor role involves deriving answers, verifying them, and testing problems against AI systems, while reviewing AI-generated analyses for real-world applicability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in design, product development, or related fields.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and fundamentals of mechanics of materials.

Responsibilities

• Write challenging, closed-ended problems from your area of expertise.
• Derive the correct answer, verify it, and provide a worked solution.
• Test problems against AI systems and refine them for greater challenge.
• Review AI-generated analyses and designs for correctness and practicality.
• Review other contributors' problems and solutions for rigor.
