Cayuse is hiring an Associate Engineer for a remote-first software role focused on embedding AI capabilities into Cayuse products. You will work with senior engineers to design, build, test, and ship AI agents, MCP servers, and LLM-powered features that help research institutions streamline workflows.

This entry-level position emphasizes solid coding, rapid learning, and growth into a strong AI engineer role through real feature delivery and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to build working software through coursework, internships, projects, or contributions.
• Exposure to version control (Git), code reviews, and agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AI agents that use LLMs to complete tasks within Cayuse products.
• Develop MCP servers to securely interact with Cayuse applications.
• Turn AI-extracted rules into deterministic validations alongside existing form rules.
• Integrate AI features into Cayuse applications via platform APIs.
• Write unit and integration tests for AI features and contribute to evaluation sets.
