Job summary

Samsara is seeking an AI security-focused engineer to join our security team in the United States. This role sits at the intersection of security engineering and applied AI, leveraging frontier AI models to strengthen our software, firmware, and hardware defenses.

You will help shape Samsara's AI security strategy and drive secure AI adoption across the organization. The position offers a fully remote work model for candidates in the US (excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, NYC Metro, and DC

Qualifications

• 8+ years in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/LLM tools to security workflows, with automation and tooling.
• Experience conducting technical security assessments across software and hardware/firmware.
• Experience creating secure code solutions with engineers using Go.
• Experience developing AI and agentic solutions using GitHub and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, consistent security assessments of Samsara's software, code, and firmware against AI-driven/adversarial attacks and implement fixes.
• Translate AI security findings into Samsara-specific fixes for the application security layer, including hardware/embedded firmware considerations.
• Build and pressure-test novel AI-enabled security tooling and workflows, driving adoption across the security org.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, hardware, and leadership as Samsara's go-to expert on AI-related security risk.
• Help define and drive Samsara's medium- and long-term strategy for adopting AI safely and effectively within security operations.
• Use frontier AI/LLM tools hands-on for offensive validation (red-teaming) and defensive tooling.
• Champion and embed Samsara's cultural principles across the organization.
