Job summary

Affirm is seeking a senior security engineer to lead end-to-end AI/LLM security reviews, design guardrails, and drive risk-based adoption of AI features. You will model threats, review prompts and tool configurations, and partner across Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, and Engineering to scale security for enterprise AI.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining security architecture for AI/LLM systems.
• Threat modeling and securing agentic systems and tool-calling frameworks.
• Experience with governance artifacts and vendor reviews in SaaS.
• Familiarity with IAM for non-human identities and policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the enterprise AI security review process.
• Threat model AI/LLM systems, data flows, and tool permissions; drive remediation.
• Review prompts, configurations, and manifests; create secure test cases.
• Design guardrails and tooling for authn/authz, data handling, logging, and policies.
• Evaluate third-party AI SaaS capabilities and drive risk-based adoption.
• Identify AI security vulnerabilities and contribute to incident playbooks.
• Lead cross-functional security initiatives and communicate with leadership.
