Job summary

CrowdStrike, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to help build the next generation of AI-driven agentic systems for cybersecurity. The role centers on training models, deploying AI agents, and measuring performance on large-scale behavioral data.

You will work with Machine Learning, Big Data, and Threat Research experts to improve analyst workflows, automate procedures, and push the boundaries of AI in security. This remote role offers autonomy and a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Advanced foundations in machine learning, probability, and statistics with sound experimental design.
• PhD-level depth in modern ML research is preferred but not required, including ability to read and critique papers.
• Experience training generative models and LLMs, with tokenization and scaling considerations.
• Reinforcement learning and post-training techniques: RLHF/RLAIF, PPO/GRPO/DPO, reward modeling.
• Experience building agentic systems with planning, tool calls, and memory.
• Systematic prompt optimization and evaluation design for LLM systems.
• Fluency with GPUs, PyTorch, and the LLM training/serving stack.
• Strong reproducible research engineering and clear communication within a team.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous objectives and drive impact.
• Proven use of AI to enhance decision-making and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of AI and Threat Research to advance agentic systems.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to understand analyst workflows and SIEM processes.
• Post-train LLMs and agents with supervised fine-tuning and RL-based methods.
• Design AI agents and assemble complex workflows with planning, tool use, and memory.
• Research state-of-the-art agentic planning methods and prototype new approaches.
• Establish objective benchmarks with rigorous evals and metrics.
• Optimize prompts and inference for efficient model performance.
• Partner with engineering teams to move prototypes toward production.
• Monitor AI advances and identify priority research areas.
