Job summary

Scale AI Human Frontier Collective is seeking a senior software engineer or researcher for a fully remote 1099 fellowship lasting approximately six months. You will help design, evaluate, and interpret advanced generative AI systems while collaborating with Scale’s research team and partnered AI labs.

Applicants should have 5+ years of software engineering or related academic experience and strong coding skills in Python, Java, Rust, Swift, JavaScript, or C++.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering or related technical experience (academic work acceptable).
• Demonstrated coding proficiency in Python, Java, Rust, Swift, JavaScript, or C++.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative thinker with applied AI research interest.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on high-impact projects with partnered AI labs and platforms; design complex problems and datasets to evaluate AI models.
• Contribute to Scale’s research efforts and knowledge sharing through technical reports and papers.
• Support the design, evaluation, and interpretation of advanced generative AI systems in interdisciplinary teams.
