Job summary

Outlier is hiring remote, flexible-shift researchers to review AI-generated media. You will hold live conversations with AI voice models, compare images and videos, and explain in writing what looked off, all from home and on your own schedule.

Ideal candidates are fluent in English with keen attention to detail and the ability to articulate clear, evidence-based explanations. A Bachelor's degree or higher is a plus and employment is 1099 freelance with worldwide remote eligibility.

Qualifications

• Fluent English speaker with strong, clear written communication.
• Strong attention to detail, patient and able to replay/zoom in to verify outputs.
• Nice to have: Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree or above.
• Comfortable thinking on your feet and discussing realistic scenarios in a natural, conversational way.
• Experience writing short, evidence-based explanations or reviews.
• Able to make a clear decision when both options have flaws.

Responsibilities

• Holding a live, scenario-based conversation in English with AI voice models, then ranking how natural, useful, and clear each sounded.
• Comparing pairs of AI-generated images and videos and judging which better follows the prompt.
• Inspecting outputs closely, including zooming in and replaying, to spot problems like distorted anatomy, flickering or unnatural motion, text errors, and audio that doesn’t match the video.
• Rating each output across dimensions like adherence, quality, and realism, then writing a specific explanation in English that points to what you saw or heard.
