Job summary

CARET is building an AI-accelerated migration platform for CARET Legal. We seek the Engineering Tech Lead to own architecture end to end, from data extraction to transformation and orchestration, with hands‑on coding and cross‑functional leadership.

You will design scalable pipelines, map data models, and shape the platform alongside a technical product manager, applying AI to accelerate migration assessment and delivery for law firms across the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building data-intensive backend systems and leading architecture.
• Reverse engineering of complex data systems and storage structures.
• Experience building reliable data pipelines including CDC, transformation, and orchestration at scale.
• Proficiency with SQL and modern data stack tools (dbt, cloud orchestrators).
• Strong bias for correctness, observability, and data lineage in production.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture across extraction, transformation, and orchestration - the full migration pipeline.
• Translate technical strategy into buildable platform increments with the team.
• Develop deep knowledge of CARET Legal data model and mappings to workflows.
• Understand legal practice management and accounting workflows and data relationships.
• Design for correctness and scale, ensuring accurate migrations across many firms.
