Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate high-performance cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. You will bridge MLOps and DevSecOps, deploying scalable architectures across commercial, private, hybrid, and government clouds.

You will also serve as a customer-facing SME, translating mission challenges into actionable architectures, supporting scoping, and delivering technical documentation for engagements.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering experience.
• Ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts to stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, container networking, RBAC and secrets management.
• Experience with major cloud platforms and IaC tooling (Terraform) and Git workflows.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
• Familiarity with security baselines (CIS, NIST, FedRAMP).

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate high-availability cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
• Serve as client-facing SME, translating requirements into architectures and scoping engagements.
• Collaborate with delivery and account teams on solutioning and demos.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and GitOps with security guardrails.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security scans and audit logging.
• Monitor platform performance and participate in on-call rotations.
