Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join a remote nationwide team or office-based in MN/DC/NJ. You will design and build AI-powered software services, collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and platform teams to deliver scalable solutions in healthcare.

This role requires 4+ years of Java/JEE development, strong experience with AI toolchains, and a solid track record deploying production-grade software.

Qualifications

• BS/BE/BTECH/MCA(CSE/IT) or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of team programming experience with version control.
• 3+ years advanced Java/JEE development experience.
• 3+ years programming with Java, ReactJS, REST, JWT, OAuth, Spring Boot, Docker, OpenShift, Splunk.
• 2+ years with databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
• 2+ years full Java development lifecycle (design, coding, testing, maintenance).
• 2+ years OO programming with Java technologies.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Apply AI tools to build solutions for provider use cases.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and improve production-grade services and APIs.
• Develop AI capabilities using prompt engineering, tooling, and evaluation techniques.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, data scientists, and platform teams.
• Follow architecture standards and best practices for features.
• Write automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and observability instrumentation.
• Integrate AI with enterprise data, APIs, and cloud platforms with secure data flows.
• Own end-to-end technical work and drive production deployment.
