Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that improve healthcare outcomes. You will build scalable model APIs, leverage Generative AI, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on data-driven healthcare platforms.

The role supports remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with responsibilities spanning model development, deployment, and continuous improvement of intelligent pipelines within the Surest team under UHC Technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 1+ years of software development, machine learning, data science, analytics, or AI/ML engineering.
• 1+ years of Python experience with core data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Databricks).
• 1+ years of advanced SQL experience with large-scale datasets.
• 1+ years of building, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs for model inference.
• 6+ months of experience using Gen AI tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate ML models using Generative AI and traditional ML on AWS.
• Write and deploy scalable Python APIs (FastAPI) for model inference on Kubernetes.
• Develop Python-based analytics and ML solutions using Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
