Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote AI Ethics & Governance Specialist to lead the creation and deployment of ethics policies and governance frameworks for AI systems. You will drive ethical risk assessments, monitor for bias, and collaborate with legal, engineering, and product teams across time zones to ensure responsible AI development.

Qualifications

• Master's/PhD in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, CS, Public Policy or related field with focus on AI ethics.
• 4+ years in AI ethics, responsible AI, or AI governance.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and societal implications.
• Familiarity with GDPR, AI Act, and industry AI standards.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, able to explain complex ethics and technical concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple remote projects.
• Experience in policy development, stakeholder engagement and advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI ethics policies, guidelines, and governance frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI systems.
• Monitor AI systems for bias, fairness, and unintended consequences.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams on ethical AI development.
• Stay updated on evolving AI regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Educate and train internal teams on AI ethics principles and responsible practices.
• Advise on data privacy and security considerations in AI systems.
• Contribute to tools and processes for monitoring and auditing AI systems.
• Engage with external stakeholders on AI ethics issues.
