Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Manager, AI Engineering to lead a team of engineers building production AI solutions for healthcare workflows. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, incident response, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable outcomes.

You will translate product priorities into execution plans, partner with product leadership, and guide architectures that combine classical ML, LLMs, and document AI.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, or data science.
• 3–5 years of people management experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience delivering classical ML and LLM-based applications into production.
• Familiarity with sensitive or regulated data, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong expertise in AI solution design, classical ML, LLMs, document AI, and relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 5+ engineers through coaching, mentoring, and structured feedback.
• Own end-to-end engineering execution, including planning and incident response.
• Translate the AI roadmap into quarterly plans with measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with product managers to shape the roadmap and scope AI use cases.
• Guide the architecture of production AI solutions using classical ML, LLMs, document AI, and related technologies.
• Review designs and code while remaining hands-on with prototypes.
• Build reusable components and internal platforms to support scalable capabilities.
