Job summary

Pinterest seeks an experienced Security Engineer to build detection and response improvements, leveraging AI to boost efficiency and coverage. You’ll own alerting, logging pipelines, and tooling while on-call rotation and cross-team collaboration drive fast, reliable incident response.

You’ll work in a cloud-first environment, drafting SIEM queries, threat hunts, and incident playbooks, with opportunities to influence security posture across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS, cybersecurity, or related field.
• Experience with intrusion detection and incident response in cloud-first environments.
• Proficiency writing SIEM queries for alerting, response, and threat hunting.
• Experience consuming threat intel and telemetry sources (EDR, Osquery, Firewall logs).

Responsibilities

• Build alerts and automation workflows to improve detection and response to external and internal threats.
• Manage logging pipelines and onboard new sources to improve detection coverage.
• Develop and maintain internal tooling to expand detection and response capabilities.
• Respond to alerts and run incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with cross-team partners on security initiatives.
• Hunt for previously undetected threats in the environment.
• Leverage AI to streamline and enhance security engineering outputs.
