Anthropic is seeking an exceptional Detection and Response Engineer to build and lead security monitoring, incident investigations, and coordinated response across our AI platforms. You will shape security capabilities from the ground up with our research and security teams in a highly collaborative environment.

You will join a fast-growing security function working on threat detection, incident response, and tooling that leverages AI, with on‑call duties and cross‑team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in detection engineering, incident response, or threat hunting.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments and SaaS.
• Experience with security tooling and incident workflows.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead projects with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity Incident Response efforts covering diverse domains from external attacks to insider threats involving all layers of Anthropic’s technology stack
• Develop and deploy novel tooling that may leverage Large Language Models to enhance detection, investigation, and response capabilities
• Create and optimize detections, playbooks, and workflows to quickly identify and respond to potential incidents
• Review Incident Response metrics and procedures and drive continuous improvement
• Work cross functionally with other security and engineering teams
• Note: This position will require participation in an on‑call rotation
