Job summary

Sears Home Services in Hoffman Estates, IL seeks a Process Mapping & Future-State Design Intern to build a workflow specification library for Paperclip, creating foundational process knowledge for AI agents. You will document triggers, inputs, decisions, actions, and escalation rules to enable automation and oversight by humans.

Partner with operational teams to decompose workflows and produce agent-ready specifications that support an AI-enabled, high-performing business.

Qualifications

Some undergraduate education.
Less than one year of related experience.
18 years of age or older.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Operations Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Interviews stakeholders across multiple functions to map workflows.
Observes and documents current-state processes.
Develops process maps, workflow diagrams, and operational documentation.
Identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
Documents decision logic, system interactions, handoffs, and escalation procedures.
Collaborates with transformation and leadership on process improvement initiatives.
Maintains organized process documentation repositories and standards.
Translates workflows into agent-ready specifications with triggers, inputs, and rules.
