Job summary

Scale Army Careers is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to design, build, deploy, and maintain AI-powered internal tools that automate research, buyer evaluation, briefing preparation, and other business workflows for U.S.-based clients.

This fully remote role requires coordinating with leadership, implementing API integrations, data pipelines, and AI models, while ensuring data security and human-in-the-loop review. Collaboration with Claude Code, ChatGPT/Codex, and related tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building AI-enabled applications and automations.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, ChatGPT/Codex, or similar AI coding environments.
• Solid software development in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or equivalent.
• Experience with LLM APIs, structured outputs, and prompt orchestration.
• Experience developing APIs, data pipelines, and database-backed apps.
• Experience integrating third-party SaaS via APIs and webhooks.
• Ability to manage technical projects with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain AI-powered internal tools and workflows.
• Translate business use cases into technical specs and implementation plans.
• Evaluate AI models, tools, and approaches based on business needs.
• Develop workflows combining client data, market data, and research results.
• Create AI-assisted buyer evaluation workflows and seller summaries.
• Integrate internal tools with CRM, Google Workspace, and APIs.
• Develop user-facing applications with intuitive interfaces and adoption in mind.
• Maintain data security, access controls, and confidentiality.
